Generally, we prepare refreshing musk melon juice or milkshake by adding milk & sugar (or condensed milk). Ever since I realized the weight loss properties of musk melons I started including them in my diet as much as possible during the entire summer. Needless to say that calorie conscious people would prefer to take fresh musk melon salad than creamy milkshakes during this summer to enjoy its health benefits completely. So lets make melon ball fruit salad that will satiate our hunger as well.
Melon ball fruit salad:
I have used the fleshy fruits musk melon, water melon & papaya to make fruit balls as they aid in weight loss. Also I have added few grapes for adding color to this fruit salad. But you can make fruit balls using other fleshy fruits like mango, passion fruit, etc. and add them into this salad.
- Water melon (tharpoosani)
- Musk melon (kirni pazham)
- Papaya (pappali)
- One or two drops of lemon juice
- Finely chopped mint leaves
How to prepare fruit salad:
- Scoop out fruits using a measuring spoon as shown below.
- Add all the fruits into a mixing bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk honey & lemon juice together and add chopped mint leaves.
- Drizzle the salad dressing over the fruits.
- Serve fruit salad chilled or at room temperature.
Tips & Tweaks:
- The dressing I used in here masks the raw smell of melons & papaya. Nevertheless it does not overpower the sweetness of fruits
- You can replace the salad dressing by sprinkling a pinch of pepper/ cumin powder or chaat masala.
